Washington State Road Trip Part 3: Snoqualmie River/Cascade Mountains
This was a really cool experience because it was my first time seeing wild hot springs. I’ve been to a hot springs resort a few times, but being in a rock pool in the middle of the forest was very different. Especially since we had to hike for an hour and a half just to reach them. It felt like such an adventure!
They’re called the Goldmyer hot springs, and I sadly couldn’t take any photos because photography was forbidden. Also there were only 3 small pools and they were all crowded. Only 20 people are allowed to visit per day (you have to make a reservation), but even that’s a lot for such small pools.
The hike itself was beautiful. There were quaint spots with birch trees and views of the Snoqualmie river, as well as seriously Pacific north west spots with giant evergreens, waterfalls, and moss covered boulders. We even spotted a wild forest mouse taking a nap.
It was the perfect, relaxing end to our road trip. I love a good hike. BTW, these are the first photos I’ve ever posted of me with no makeup! I’m actually a bit nervous posting them. And while I’m being honest, I didn’t wear the boots for the hike – I wore dorky runners.
Even though this destination is obscure and out of the way unless you live in the area, I hope that I’ve inspired you to get in touch with nature wherever in the world you are. I’d also love to know if you’ve been to natural hot springs!
