VLOG | Sunshine Coast Birthday Trip

I never made a birthday post this year, but I did create a little vlog from the weekend. It was my 25th so I wanted to do something special. I was feeling a bit weird leading up to it, like I needed to plan something incredible. Plus I was getting those existential crisis thoughts you seem to inevitably get leading up to a milestone birthday. But the beauty of birthdays is that you can make them completely your own. Unlike other holidays there aren’t really any set traditions, except for cake. But who doesn’t like cake?

I knew I wanted to see my friends, but I also wanted to go somewhere. My birthday is October 21 – just before it starts getting too cold to actually enjoy yourself outside. Kirill’s birthday is a month before mine and we spent his in Mexico. I knew mine wouldn’t be as cool as the cenote/snorkeling trip we went on for his but I made the best of what I have here at home.

I rang in my 25th year dancing around the karaoke room of a gay bar with my friends. I think we were singing Lady Marmalade and I was Mya. It as perfect. Then later, after a nice sleep in, we took a little family trip with just Kirill and Lady to the Sunshine Coast. It’s one of my favourite getaways from the city because it’s not too far (a 40 minute ferry ride), the ocean views are gorgeous and it’s overall just super chill. It feels like you’re in another little world where big cities and pollution don’t exist. Our Airbnb was so cute and cozy I didn’t even mind the torrential downpour outside. I can’t remember the last birthday I had when it didn’t rain, but that’s fall in the PNW for you. Luckily on Sunday it cleared up and we were able to go on a hike at Smuggler’s Cove.

Thanks for watching! What’s your ideal birthday celebration?

Hope you have a wonderful weekend! After a crazy week I’m hoping to do a little bit more for Christmas, getting those last few gifts and doing some more wrapping!

You can call me crazy but I actually felt like dancing on the sound of the video. Jokes aside, the location is just breathtaking.

No that’s good to hear! It always takes me forever to choose out music for videos so I’m very glad you liked it 🙂 thank you!
