Vancouver Fashion Week FW16 Favourites

This past weekend my boyfriend and I attended Vancouver Fashion Week FW16.

It’s always a great event because the designer range is so diverse. You can find designers from all over the world and with all sorts of different designs: intricate evening gowns, minimalism, avant-garde, menswear … and that’s just in one night.

My favourite shows were from Noe Bernacelli and Ivette Alaniz, who had the most amazing dresses. Ivette Alaniz perfectly mixed tough with delicate with her all-black leather and chiffon pieces, which were totally up my alley. Noe Bernacelli had really beautiful gowns with fringe, lace, and beading that I would also die to wear.

Some other shows I liked that weren’t completely my style were Danny Reinke and Bethany Williams because of the interesting avant-garde details like teddy bears sewn onto sweatshirts, a top that looks like a chiffon cloud, and really crazy prints mixed together.

So here are my favourite looks from the evening, hoping you enjoy and discover some cool new designers!

Is there a fashion week in your city?

P.S.: A vlog of the night is coming soon to my YouTube channel, so stay tuned!

It must be great to see the designs so up close and personal! I’ve never attended a fashion week, sounds interesting to witness at least once (though I’m not so sure if I’d like having to be there every time). We don’t have one where I live, but there’s a fashion week in Amsterdam – the Netherlands is tiny 😉

It is interesting for sure! We arrived a bit late and it was super crowded so we actually weren’t super up close and personal but we got a pretty good view. I usually only go for one or two days even though the event runs for 5 days, I’m just too exhausted and don’t have the time to get glammed up for it after work. Maybe you could check out the Amsterdam Fashion Week one day? xx
