This is the last summery look of the year, promise. I’ve been wanting to shoot this outfit all summer but somehow only got around to it on the very last day. Seriously, I don’t think I could have handled the shorts on the next day. I think this stripe/floral blouse is so damn cool. I’m not into typical girly florals but I’m in love with this tropical/jungle print, it reminds me of Alexander McQueen. And styling a mixed print top isn’t too hard either – just let it do all the talking and keep the rest simple.
I’m not sure why it took me so long to do this shoot. The cherry on top is that I’m also a day behind my own posting schedule because I was locked out of my blog >.< [my security plugins were too good and shut me out for 3 days!] It seems the older I get, the less time I have. I partially blame Lady, her cuteness distracts me a lot. But maybe that’s just modern adulthood – learning how to do more things with less time. I don’t think people felt this way a few decades ago.
We’ve made the on-the-go lifestyle the norm, yet we’re always complaining about time and longing for balance. If I don’t accomplish everything on my daily checklist I get irritated and/or feel guilty. I get jealous of myself on days when I get everything done AND have extra time. But I try not to be too hard on myself. Shit happens. I’d rather give myself a bit of rest at the end of the day. All work and no play make me a dull girl. So here I am, posting a summer outfit that I shot at the end of September a few days before November. Whatever, it’s always summer somewhere.
