Hey friends! Sorry I missed last week’s OOTD post, I needed a little break. But I’m back with this red one shoulder bodysuit outfit. What do you think of the one shoulder look? I’m not the biggest fan of early 2000s fashion but I’m into this style. It’s very sleek and modern after all those off the shoulder tops (still love them, but they do give off a more old fashioned vibe).
I’ve gotten a bit behind with my content. We took these photos in the beginning of October when it was still warm enough to go jacket-free, if only for a few minutes. I hadn’t shot anything since, except for this weekend when we finally got a little break from the rain. The worst part is I’m not feeling an inspiration rut – I actually have a decent list of outfits I want to shoot.
It’s more of an aesthetic struggle. Because it’s all about aesthetic these days (AKA having the perfect feed). It seems the only right way to do it is to only buy clothes and shoot in locations that match your colour scheme. Maybe it’s not too hard if you just stick to blacks and whites. But for someone like me who’s a bit of a chameleon, it’s a challenge. Sometimes I want to wear bold reds, sometimes I want to wear soft pastels. Sometimes I want a scenic backdrop like in the photos below, sometimes I want to shoot in a gritty alleyway. I almost felt like crying while editing these photos because I couldn’t get them quite right.
Blogging isn’t always easy. Sometimes I question why I spend so much of my time on it. Truth is, it’s kind of addicting. I grew up on fashion magazines but now I barely read them because of blogs. Instead of one person telling us what’s good, there are now thousands of real people interpreting fashion their own way. I love that and want to continue to be a part of it, even if it does drive me crazy sometimes.
