Pops Of Red With Lia’s Trinkets [GIVEAWAY]

I didn’t make a Valentine’s post because my boyfriend and I never really celebrated it (I think spontaneous acts of love are way more romantic than anything you feel pressured to plan on Valentine’s Day), but this post could be it.

I’m wearing red and giving one of you a pair of pretty handmade earrings. Consider it a gift month on Looking Glass, because what better way to beat the winter blues than with giveaways all month long?

But first, I want to tell you about these earrings, which are made by Lia of Lia’s TrinketsI’ve done collaborations before, but this one got me especially excited. Lia contacted me last month after finding me online (I think it was through Instagram or Reddit). She has an Etsy shop where she sells her handmade earrings and scarves. In addition to the origami earrings, she also sent me a few scarf swatches. They’re made with a great chunky knit, and I can imagine how cozy they must in their full size.

The reason I’m so happy about this collaboration is that it’s two young women supporting each other’s dreams. An even cooler part: I’m in Vancouver and she’s in New York. Isn’t the Internet amazing?

One of the things that pleasantly surprised me about blogging is how kind and supportive everyone is. I feel like I’ve made some great connections with you guys on here and on instagram. I always look forward to reading your comments and seeing your posts. It’s pretty incredible that the fashion blogosphere was essentially created by a bunch of (mostly) young women all over the world, and it grew so big just because of the mutual support girls have been giving each other. After only a few years bloggers have become a major part of the fashion industry. And they say girls are bitches to each other!

So I’m really pleased to share Lia’s unique designs with you and I hope that you like them as much as I do. Isn’t the origami design pretty? The earrings are actually made from paper and are very lightweight.

To win a pair:

1. Like, comment and tag a friend on the Instagram photo (the winner’s friend will get a special coupon to Lia’s store)
2. Follow Lia (@lias_trinkets) & I (@maria.pol) on Instagram
3. Like my Facebook page

I’ll announce the winner 2 weeks from now (February 29th), and as a bonus anyone who has entered will receive a discount coupon to Lia’s Etsy store. Good luck to everyone that enters!

PS. Thank you all for your sweet comments about my first vlog! I’ll definitely make more. It’s slowly getting warmer (when it’s not raining), so we’re going to start going on more walks/hikes, and I will show you more of my favourite places in the city 🙂

Completely agree! I don’t think Valentine’s is all about love! Love should be expressed all year around!
I love the coat, loved it the moment I saw it on instagram!
    Gorgeous handmade earrings!

What a cute pair of earrings! It’s always such a blast finding out of NY based designers. I love how you paired the earrings with those red pants. 🙂

And I totally agree! It’s crazy how quickly the blogosphere grew over the last several years. I think being supportive with each other leads to greater success overall. 🙂

Your pants are a perfect match with those super cute earrings! I also love how you styled the whole outfit – it’s chic as well as energetic, thanks to the pants’ vibrant color 🙂
Hey, your hair is back to its natural state! Looking lovely and healthy! And I totally agree: the internet is a great invention ♥

Thanks Izzy! This was just after it got done so it does look amazing. Not so great when I style it on my own (AKA just let it air dry) but it is feeling healthier xx
