Off The Shoulder Top & Star Booties at Vancouver Mural Festival

Life pro tip: order yourself a little treat to come home to after travelling to beat the post-vacation blues. Kirill and I recently spent a week in Mexico for his birthday. Maybe it’s materialistic, but coming home to some packages made me feel better about leaving the tropical paradise that is Playa del Carmen. Having an extra day off before going back to work helps too. I wore my new off the shoulder top & star booties to check out the Vancouver Mural Festival after we picked up Lady from her sitter.

And it’s the perfect off the shoulder top! I prefer the fitted Bardot kind over the flowy boho kind, but I’ve had issues finding one that sits properly on my arms. This one is made of a knit sweater fabric so it actually stays up pretty well. I still have to adjust it every now and then but it’s much better than a thin cotton version. And aren’t the booties amazing? Velvet with stars, two of my favourite things. They’re my new favourite pair.

The mural festival has been going on for a few years now. Each year they choose a new neighbourhood (this year it’s Main St/Mount Pleasant for those who want to visit) and local artists decorate the blocks with murals. Pretty cool, right? There was an actual street festival for the grand reveal, but it was super crowded. We decided to come back in a few weeks when the area was calmer. I’m glad we did because we had the murals to ourselves most of the time, apart from a few other photographers and some skaters.

Which is your favourite mural of the ones below? It’s hard to choose but I think mine is the giraffe.

I’m wearing…
