This was the outfit I wore to watch the Canada Day fireworks on the weekend. A strappy crop top from Sammydress & boyfriend jeans. Oh, and my peep-toe lace-up booties that make anything look cool. Now that I’ve had boyfriend jeans for a while I don’t know how I lived without them before.
After the shoot, we left the busy quay to watch the fireworks from another park. An obscure little one next to an industrial zone that gives the same view of downtown that the quay does, but a little further off. Still, it was magical watching the fireworks almost alone (some of the locals knew about this secret spot).
It’s funny, I can never bring myself to wear red and white on Canada Day. The truth is, I’ve never had strong patriotic feelings. Not that I don’t love Canada – I’m happy to live where I do, surrounded by the ocean and mountains. I try to show off how gorgeous my city is with each outfit post. But I can’t say it’s the best place on the planet. The planet has so many other beautiful places and I hate putting them up against each other.
Basically, I don’t like picking favourites. It’s the same with clothes. Sometimes I like oversized t-shirts and skinny jeans, other times it’s crop tops and boyfriend jeans. Life’s too short to not see different places and wear different things.
