Sweater weather. It’s never something I’ve looked forward to.
I’ll always prefer summer clothes, but I’m actually enjoying this season’s knits and their details. Like this choker sweater from Sammydress. The choker looks cool, and it’s also super cozy. It’s essentially a built-in scarf that never gets in the way. And I love the zippers on the sleeves.
Somehow, I’ve made peace with the approaching winter. I’ll forever be a summer girl, but I’ve learned to appreciate winter in my own way. I’ve tried ice skating, skiing, snowboarding and other winter activities but they’re just not for me. I have a low cold tolerance so it’s best for me to stay indoors.
To me, winter is all about embracing those lazy days you don’t have time for in the summer. Appreciating your home. Cuddles, hot beverages, books, binge watching TV shows or having movie marathons. And snacks. Lots of snacks.
These photos were actually taken at Syd’s (the photographer) place, but they inspired me to spend my lazy winter days in a sweater. Usually at home I’ll throw on a sweatshirt or just a robe if I’m cold, but there’s something about lounging in a sweater. I felt like a model in a luxury knitwear campaign. Btw, doesn’t Syd have an amazing view?
It’s amazing how clothing can affect us, even at home. Because winter’s also the perfect time to start on all those projects that you’ve been putting aside. Redecorating your home, learning a new language, starting a website, whatever it may be. I’ve learned that the winter blues can be avoided if you create your own sanctuary from them – and if you dress against them.
Thanks for reading! How do you like to spend your winter days?
