Hey everyone! Since it’s New Year’s Eve I wanted to share my favourite looks of the year, and the most important things I’ve learned this year.
For me, 2015 was the year of ‘just do it’. I quit the job I was starting to hate. I couldn’t find a travel buddy so I went on my first solo trip. I dyed my hair purple and got a tattoo.
That doesn’t mean I was reckless or careless though. Quite the opposite, actually. It was more acting on the things I’d been thinking about but had been to afraid to do. And you know what? I’m so glad I did all of those things.
So if there’s something that’s been on your mind forever but you’ve been holding back, I say do it! Go on that trip by yourself, quit that shitty job, dye your hair a wild colour and get that tattoo. It could be something as simple as trying a new type of food. Just do it, even if it means doing it on your own.
I know it’s super cheesy and I’m sure you see this stuff on instagram all the time, but it really is true that you only have one life and you can’t rely on anyone else but yourself to make you happy. That being said, if you’re happy it will improve the relationships in your life. Don’t think of putting yourself first as a selfish act. It’s like they say, how can you love anybody if you don’t love yourself?
Then there’s this blog. Other bloggers know that a lot of work goes into it, but it’s pretty amazing to have your own project that you’re constantly learning new things about and trying to improve. It’s like running your own little business, which is something I never thought I could do.
I know I don’t have millions of followers but I’m grateful for all of you and the connections that we’ve made, even if it’s only through comments and/or instagram. I’d love to meet you one day!
So thanks to all of you that have been reading this year. I hope you have an amazing night (and outfit) tonight, however you plan to celebrate, and see you in 2016! XX
PS, here are the aforementioned favourite looks of the year, which do you prefer?
